Unscramble your letters, or browse the whole dictionary

Put your letters in the box and you get every word they make, longest first. Underneath sit the complete lists: every word of every length from 2 to 15 letters, and every five letter word by the letter it starts with.

168,551 words in the dictionary, 40 word lists, one solver.

Word lists by length

Every word of that length, alphabetical, with a filter for prefixes, endings and any letter in the middle. Nothing is truncated.

Five letter words by starting letter

Five letters is the length people look up most, so it gets a page per starting letter. Each one carries the full list and notes on how that letter behaves.

The unscrambler

Letters in, words out. It reads your letters as a set rather than a sequence, so it finds every word they can spell and every shorter word hiding inside them.

Word unscrambler

What can this site actually do for you?

Two things. It unscrambles a set of letters into every word they spell, which is what you want mid game or mid puzzle. And it publishes the complete word lists behind that solver, so you can browse or filter them yourself instead of trusting a tool you cannot see inside.

Where these words come from

The dictionary behind this site is the ENABLE word list, a public domain list that most free word game tools are built on. It contains no proper nouns, no acronyms and no abbreviations, which matters more than it sounds: general purpose spellchecker dictionaries are full of entries like BD and AFB, and publishing those as two and three letter words would make every count on the site wrong.

The same list feeds the solver and every page here, so a word the unscrambler gives you is a word you will find on its list page, and a count printed on a page is the number of words that page really shows. Words inside the 50,000 most frequently used in contemporary English are marked as common, so you can hide the obscure ones on any list with one click.
